One Voice Prayer Week 5th - 11th May 2019
‘After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.’ Acts 4:31
Please join us in setting aside this week to pray for the world around us, locally and globally. Special events are listed below, and there will also be a prayer diary published to carry us through every day of the week. Together we can cry out to God with One Voice, seeking and finding Him in prayer.
Sunday 5th May, Rediscovering the power of prayer:
10.30am - All-age service of worship,
Focusing on Acts 4, Dave and Erica will lead an interactive service of worship, word, and prayer, suitable for all ages.
and 7pm (prayer room) - Candle-lit reflective service.
Recognising that the power of the Spirit is also manifested in the 'still, small voice,' Erica will lead a quiet service of readings and prayers.
Bank Holiday Monday 6th May, Praying for North Cambridge:
9am-9pm (prayer room) – Non-stop prayer relay. Sign up for a 30-minute period by clicking here.
The prayer room will be open for 12 hours of non-stop prayer for the local area. A map will be highlighted with the prayer requests of our local churches and organisations, along with further information, ideas and inspirations for prayer. We particularly welcome other churches to use this space. You may sign up as an individual or as a group, and children are welcome under supervision. We ask each person to 'hand-over' in prayer to the next.
Wednesday 7th May, Praying for ARBC’s missions projects and partners locally and globally:
7.30pm (blue room): Praise, Prayer, and Pudding!
Matt will lead us in worship together before we split up to move around tables representing different projects and partners to pray for. After a period of prayer we will gather for worship again, and share in bring-and-share cakes/pudding together.
Saturday 11th May, A global prayer feast:
9am (blue room) – Prayer breakfast.
Another of Ruth's legendary prayer breakfasts! We will share food and fellowship together at our tables, and each table will pray for one of three areas: for places and people affected by climate change; for places and people affected by conflict, and for persecuted Christians. Let us truly join together in One Voice with our brothers and sisters across the world. All welcome - for catering purposes, please tell Ruth if you are planning to come.
All events take place at Arbury Road Baptist Church, 20 Arbury Road. We warmly welcome everyone to these events.
The Prayer Room is on the right under the archway as you enter, the Blue Room is in the main building.
